Compassion Sunday Pt. 2

God is faithful.

It was my first time doing a presentation at church. I was nervous but God gave me a peace that passes all understanding. I did both services. I told all about Maureen. Shared how Maureen said her sponsor would always tell her:

Your poverty doesn't define you!

After the presentations I worked the table. GracePointe is an amazing church....  I asked everyone to bring a small pic of their sponsored child/children and we placed them on a world map. It was awesome to see!
Isn't that great! Look at all those children! Just makes me so very happy!

GracePointe is a small church... about 180 people. This Sunday attendance was about 150.

Eight children were sponsored! Whoohoo!

A few of the people who sponsored! God is faithful. All of our priority children were sponsored!

We Changed the Story for eight children! If you are thinking about sponsoring I have several children left that you can pick from....   Several from Central America...  a few from South America, Africa and Asia. You too can Change the Story!

Thank you for allowing me to share!

Compassion Sunday~

On April 21 people all over the world will be sharing about Compassion Sunday.  I have never been given this opportunity. I have shared with a small women's group before but never to a church.

YES! I will be sharing at the church we started going to over a year ago. This church participated in Compassion Sunday last year and I helped at the Compassion table but I did not speak.

Could you pray for me. I know I will have a short time.... but speaking in front of people really.. really makes me nervous. I am really excited. Will you pray that all the children are sponsored? Several people at Gracepointe sponsor through Compassion International.  I have several ideas. One is that I would like to put up a world map behind the Compassion table with pics of all the children who are sponsored through people in the church. I think this would be a great visual to see the difference our church is making as a whole in the lives of many children!

Another idea is to have a "shout out" and allow the other people ( a lot are youth) stand up and show a pic of their sponsored child, give their name, country and age. What do you think?

Any feed back is welcome. Will you be participating in Compassion Sunday?

Will You help me?

My daughter shared about feeding the homeless. Would you take a minute and hop over there and read and leave a comment. She often checks and sees that lots have read but no one comments. That isn't her focus as you will see in the post but just wanted to ask so that you can help me to encourage her to keep writing.

Crazy about Compassion: ~Picture to the Stories~: For years I had heard about poverty. For years I have hugged the necks of people who live or have lived in poverty. I have tried to release ...

Something so Small can be so Big.

A few weeks ago our D-group delivered food boxes to an elderly community. It was such a blessing... to them.... and to us.  The last apartment we went to the elderly woman literally started crying and thanking Jesus. She said she didn't have any food left .... just water.  Wow.

It only took us about an hour. We delivered 72 boxes. The kids loved helping. Wesley was so surprised when the woman at the last apartment cried and thanked Jesus and us. He kept saying "Mom, she said she didn't have any food!"

We hope to be able to continue to help this elderly community. Something so small and it meant so much.

Our New Arrivals!

The post office called yesterday morning......  OUR CHICKS CAME!
We have funky chickens....
We have Golden Polish ones.... these are ones with the funny top hats.
We also have Partridge Cochins.....  these are the ones with feathers on their feet!
Look how cute!

We also have a couple of Crevecoeus....  these originated from Normandy, France. Since my Dad was in WWII and was at Normandy... I thought this would be cool.

We also have six chicks from the local feed store. A few Rhode Island Reds and a couple bantams. So in total we have 23 chicks.  We love them. My grandmother loved sitting outside watching the chickens scratch in the dirt...    I think I have inherited this from her! We do not eat our chickens... just the eggs.

Spring is here.  We also have three ducks! The kids wanted ducks.... I am not very thrilled about the ducks!

How is your spring going?  The sun is shining... the kids have already been in the pool! Well, Wyatt & Wesley have...   hehehe ....

May the JOY of the Lord be yours.
